Phil Magney, founder and principal analyst for TRG, has 20 years experience as a technology analyst with core specialties in automotive telematics and mobile computing. Mr. Magney has regularly written columns and papers for industry trade publications and is a frequent speaker at telematics conferences in the US, Europe and Asia. Phil started TRG together with Egil Juliussen in the fall of 2000.
Besides being a technologist, Phil is a road course driving instructor and active participant in the Porsche Club of America and other motorsports associations. Phil is a 1992 graduate from the University of Minnesota where he studied business and economics.
Dr. Egil Juliussen is principal technology analyst for TRG. He has more than 25 years experience in the computer, communications, and telematics industries and has published over 400 industry reports, conference papers, and publications.
Dr. Juliussen's first technology report (IBM's Billion Dollar Baby, co-authored with Portia Isaacson, Ph.D. in August of 1981) accurately predicted the impact of the personal computer. His areas of expertise include information technology products such as PDAs, mobile communications, Internet appliances, and vehicle telematics.
He is a frequent speaker at telematics conferences around the world and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Ruthie Bloch has a degree in communications with a background in project management, human resources, and consulting. Currently Ruthie is working on the North American automotive market for iSuppli, focusing on the Canadian market.
She is working in technology research and is responsible for analyzing the existing and emerging telematics technologies and markets in North American. She started with Telematics Research Group in 2007, which is now part of iSuppli as of July 2008.
Julie Magney handles TRG's accounting and administrative responsibilities but also manages TRG personnel and supplier records. In addition, Julie handles all subscriptions and database licenses. Julie has worked in their field for nearly 20 years and was in retail management prior to this date.
Mark came to the iSuppli Corporation in June 2008 after the acquisition of the Telematics Research Group (TRG). He is now the lead analyst on the North American market automotive industry and all Infotainment Usability analysis. His responsibilities at iSuppli include management and analysis of the North American automotive databases and profiles, content generation from news and innovations in the industry, performing vehicle usability benchmarking and vehicle reviews, and attending all major North American Auto Shows and telematics conferences for the company. Prior to joining iSuppli, Mark worked with TRG for 2 years as the North American automotive market analyst, which started as an internship. Mark's other work experience was in the financial markets and financial services industries.
Mark received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, as well as a minor in Business Management from The Carlson School of Management. Mark is also active in his professional fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and currently holds the Vice President of Networking position at his local Twin Cities Alumni Chapter and holds a Northern Minnesota District Director position.

Anna Buettner joined TRG in November of 2006. She is working as a regional analyst and is responsible for researching the existing and emerging telematics technologies and markets in Germany. In addition, she manages the EMEA team at the Minnetonka office.
Anna Buettner was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She graduated in July 2006 with a BS degree in Sociology and Consumer Studies from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Her background in research and marketing, in combination with her ability to speak and read German, enables TRG to get an in depth understanding of telematics trends in Germany.
Jeremy Carlson joined TRG as a Technology Research Associate in March 2008 and iSuppli in July 2008. Jeremy is a member of the iSuppli Automotive EMEA team with a focus on Italy and also leads the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems service. Jeremy studied at University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Italian, which featured twelve months of study at the Università di Bologna before returning to the United States to begin a professional career.
Kevin Hamlin joined TRG as a Technology Research Associate. Kevin is a member of the European Markets team at TRG assisting with automotive and technology research for the French Market. Kevin was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and is a 2004 graduate of St. Olaf College where he earned a B.A. in French. 3 years later Kevin earned his J.D. at Hamline University School of Law.
Danny is a manager and analyst for TRG's Global Portable Devices & LBS Portal. He is also doing Korean business development as well as participating in other marketing-relevant activities for TRG.
Danny graduated from the University of Illinois with an MS degree in Advertising and was a Ph.D student at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Statistics and Psychology. Combining 4 years of academic market and consumer research with industry experience at a Samsung Electronics in-house ad agency in Korea and ACNielsen Korea, he provides in-depth analysis of the telematics and telecommunication industry.

Stacey joined TRG in the winter of 2004. She is responsible for managing editorial work within TRG, as well as the Asian region for automotive research. Also, she is an analyst for the existing and emerging automotive telematics technologies in Korea.
Stacey has a MS degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
Gerrit joined TRG as a research assistant. He is responsible for the portable navigation devices markets in Europe, specifically Germany and Great Britain. Gerrit was born and raised in Darmstadt, Germany. Gerrit graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a BS in Political Science. His language proficiency in German combined with his background in research enable him to get an in depth understanding of PND market trends.
Hitomi Larson joined TRG in the fall of 2007 as a Technology Research Associate. Hitomi is a member of the Asian Markets team at TRG assisting with automotive and technology research for the Japanese Market. Hitomi is a native of Akito Japan and a 2003 graduate of Saint Cloud State University (Minnesota) where she earned a BA in Psychology.
